AJ Fox is from the historically charming—yet backward and twisted—city of Dayton, Ohio. The indie music scene that he grew up with in this strange valley region generated such legends as Brainiac, Guided by Voices, and The Breeders, among others. With strong connections to the local scene and bands from Champagne-Urbana and beyond, AJ’s dreams and aspirations of creating music were on fertile ground. Soon thereafter, they manifested with the formation of the band Parker Ben Parker (1995). They became a force in the scene immediately, and frequented the radio.
The gloomy economic future of Dayton, and its punished and apathetic lower middle class, provided many of its natives with a storied past. AJ endured strong adversities at home, which he escaped daily by going deep into his imagination and creating vivid dreams of a better life. AJ graduated and left home: a straight A student, one of best athletes in the state, and a blooming songwriter/musician with plenty to write about.
Through college, AJ found regional success as a guitarist and songwriter in his innovative and acclaimed band, Parker Ben Parker. After graduating from Ohio U., AJ began building a studio and the skills to take his prolific songwriting ability to new heights.
AJ has climbed the mountain. He is skill on top of skill, one of those guys who has the ability to transcend everything he learns and to transform his vivid imagination into the future of music. And what the world is about to hear is—without a doubt—AJ's greatest music yet.
